Collection: Colour Changing Light Up Letters Hire Auckland

Mad Dog Backdrops is bringing light up letters to Auckland. Ours do something most don't: change colour. Our giant illuminated letters use colour-changing LEDs, so instead of a single fixed glow, you can match your letters to your event's theme, brand colours or the mood of the night.

Our light up letter hire spells out names, initials or full custom words — perfect for weddings, engagements, birthdays, baby showers, corporate functions, product launches and corporate Christmas parties. We're stocking the full A–Z alphabet, so you're not limited to a handful of pre-made words like "LOVE" or "MR & MRS" — you can personalise it to your event.

Corporate events are a big part of what we do, and light up letters are a natural fit. Spell out your company name for a product launch, conference, gala dinner or work Christmas party. Use our colour-changing LEDs to match your letters to your exact brand colours, rather than settling for the closest off-the-shelf shade. If you're planning a corporate function hire in Auckland this summer, we'd love to be part of it.

This range is being made now and is landing in Auckland this summer. We're putting this page up early so you can start planning ahead of the crowd. Register your interest below and we'll let you know the moment bookings open, with first access for anyone on the list.

Light Up Letters FAQs

What's the difference between these and standard marquee letters?

Standard marquee letters only light up in cool white. Ours use colour-changing LEDs with 146 modes, so you can switch between solid colours, pastels and animated effects. No bulbs to swap out, and everything is controlled by app or remote.

Can I change the colour during my event?

Yes — colours and modes change instantly via the app or remote, and every letter updates at the same time so the whole display stays in sync.

What events are Light Up Letters suited for?

Weddings, engagements, birthdays, baby showers, corporate functions, product launches and corporate Christmas parties — anywhere you want a personalised, photo-ready backdrop.

Do you hire number lights as well as letters?

Yes — our classic marquee number lights (21, 30, 40 and more) are a separate range. See our Marquee Lights collection.
